Kyungil University (President Cheong Hyun-Tae) held an 'opening ceremony for the Winter Global Talent Development Project' with 350 students selected for the winter vacation overseas program at the library auditorium this afternoon. They will be sent to the US, UK, Canada, and the Philippines, where they will be able to improve their English language skills, provide volunteer activities, and experience new cultures.

The 2017 Winter Global Talent Development Project consists of short and long-term language training, advanced language training, overseas volunteer, and experiences for each theme (U.S.A, Asia, Oceania, EU).

Among them, the theme-based overseas experience programs have been carried out for 17 years since 2000. The excellent teams chosen from the first and second screenings can experience the cultures of America, Asia, Oceania, Europe, and so on. 51 teams, around 200 students, were selected for the program during winter vacation in 2017.

Thirteen students will volunteer in the Philippines under the Mandalay City Government of the Philippines and plan to make an MOU agreement with the Mandalay City Hall to provide systematic support for the overseas volunteer programs.
Short-term and long-term language training is also available at Liverpool University in the UK and Guelph College in Canada for eight weeks or twenty weeks. In addition, intensive language training courses for nursing students has been steadily progressing since winter in 2015, and it is a long- lasting program that has been in affect for 11 years.
