Curling Club of Kyungil University (President Chung Hyun-tae) beat Gangwon Provincial team in the men's match of the ���20th National Curling Competition for President���s Cup��� held at Uiseong Curling Center on the 27th (Monday) in five months since its foundation.

KIU's curling team, the only team to participate as a university team, advanced to the finals with four consecutive wins from the first game to the final and beat the Gangwon Provincial team by the score of 8:3 in the final.

Founded in April this year, KIU's curling team currently consists of male members and will also create women's and mixed teams in the future.

Lee Jae-beom (freshman of KIU), the skip of curling team, said, ���It was an honor to play with senior players I respected and admired,��� and added, ���I'm so happy to win in the first year of the foundation and I still can't believe it.���

"I'm proud of the students who won in five months since its foundation," said Chung Hyun-tae, president of KIU, adding, "We will spare no support to the players in various sports teams, including the curling team, in the future.
