President of KIU, Hyun-tae Chung has been visiting the United States to develop the global base camp education and to strengthen cooperation with overseas universities since last 24th. President Chung Hyun-tae visited Nevada State University in the US and signed a credit sharing MOU with President Keith Whitfield on the 27th. On this day, the presidents of both universities decided to promote the course for bachelors (3+1) and the courses for bachelor and master(3+3) program from Kyungil University and Nevada State University at the same time. President Chung Hyun-tae said, “The topic of future education is convergence. For example, art and engineering should also be able to develop into convergence education through collaboration.” President Keith of Nevada State University agreed with his opinion, and the two universities decided to cooperate for convergence education in the future. KIU plans to build an American campus like a large-scale field trip training center located in California and expand domestic education programs to overseas program with overseas universities’ MOU. Detailed coordination with local organizations is in progress for the creation of the California campus in the United States, and it is expected to be completed soon after President Chung's visit to the United States. The major curriculums in USA consist of △K-Culture & Video Contents & Music △Manga Animation & Digital Media △Sports △Hotel Management & Management △Aviation Service & Flight △Entertainment & Engineering. President Chung Hyun-tae said, “The California campus in the US will become a global base camp that will support our students’ overseas occupation. They would be one of the greatest ‘game changer’ in art, contents, and sports field with KIU GNP which students develop their competence by themselves. |
