Professor Kwang-il Lee of Kyungil University (Department of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering) received a commendation from the Minister of Trade, Industry, and Energy at the 22nd Machine Tool Manufacturer's Day hosted by the Korea Machine Tool Industry Association (Chairman Youngdoo Kwon) on the 3rd floor of the Conrad Seoul Hotel on December 1st (Thursday).

'Machine Tool Manufacturer's Day' is a meaningful event in which the government, the National Assembly, and machine tool industry officials gather to share information and find ways to develop the machine tool industry, instilling pride in machine tool manufacturers. The Korea Machine Tool Industry Association, which hosts the event, was launched in 1979 with 47 member companies and is contributing to the development of domestic machine tools and related industries.

Professor Lee has been conducting research on machine tools for the past 20 years, and has 37 domestic and foreign papers and 17 domestic and international patents, especially related to 5-axis machine tools which are the most advanced type of machine tools. Currently, he is professionally carrying out the new research support project of the Nation Research Foundation of Korea.
