KIU recently wrapped up its engaging showcase, titled "Survival," spotlighting the achievements of its Meta-Content Convergence major. Hosted by the university's Local Activation Business Unit, the exhibition unfolded over six days at the esteemed Art Stella Sono Gallery in Dongin-dong, Jung-gu, Daegu, starting from the 20th.

The Meta-Content Convergence major stands out as a specialized educational track tailored for enrolled students, strategically designed to swiftly adapt to the dynamic shifts within the content industry, particularly in realms like XR and AI. Fusing the strengths of five related disciplines?Photography and Video, Cartoon Animation, Game Content, Design, and Architectural Design?the program supplements these with cutting-edge convergence courses covering Generative AI, Game Engine, Motion Capture, and 3D Scanning, cultivating a cadre of skilled professionals poised to thrive in this evolving landscape.

Under the astute guidance of Professor Han Sang-im, students took the reins in conceptualizing and crafting their own works for the exhibition. Over a hundred student creations were seamlessly integrated into a cohesive narrative, offering visitors a multifaceted exploration of emerging trends and innovative expressions.

Lee Jae-ho, a third-year student majoring in Photography and Videography, reflected on the exhibition's thematic resonance, noting, "'Survival' encapsulates not merely the challenges posed by rapid technological advancements and the resultant societal transformations, but more importantly, it signifies an opportunity for forward progression into uncharted territories." Jae-ho emphasized the resilient spirit driving continuous exploration and adaptation in the face of adversity.

Kim Dong-geon, also a third-year student in Photography and Videography, expressed profound satisfaction at the opportunity to exhibit his personal growth through novel endeavors during his university journey. He highlighted the realization that seemingly intimidating technologies like Stable Diffusion and SORA actually serve as catalysts for unleashing greater creative potential.

Kim Ho-kwon, director of the Local Activation Business Unit and head of the Department of Game Content, lauded the significance of the exhibition as a platform for showcasing the innovative prowess of students in the nascent Meta-Content Convergence major. He underscored the commitment to fostering a conducive environment for continued student innovation through a curriculum deeply rooted in content-centric pedagogy and sustained investment in emerging technologies.
