KIU, under the leadership of President Chung Hyun-tae, has been selected for the '2024 Hanul Academy Project' organized by Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (KHNP) on the 7th of last month.

The Hanul Academy Project aims to foster the development of Uljin County by nurturing next-generation local leaders who can lead and drive changes in the local community with an objective perspective, strengthening their capabilities in the process.

This year, KIU will receive support funding of 100 million won to conduct various programs targeting local residents, senior citizens, leaders of social organizations, and employees of relevant institutions. These programs will include lectures by prominent figures in various fields such as management, future studies, economics, and the environment.

Yoon Sung-il, Director of KIU's Lifelong Education Center, stated, "Through the Hanul Academy Project, we aim to lay the foundation for the autonomous development of the local community by fostering leaders who can lead and strengthen the capabilities for change in the Uljin region."
