Department of SMART Sport and Kyungil University's Smart Wellness Lab signed a business agreement with the International Olympic Committee Research Center Korea on December 26 to prevent injuries to Olympic athletes and develop and support health promotion programs on our university campuses.

Through this agreement, Kyungil University was selected as a cooperative research institute of the IOC Research Center.

The IOC Research Center is an organization that researches sports medicine and science including prevention of injury, improvement of performance and movement, and health promotion for Olympic athletes, national team prospects, and people around the world who enjoy sports. Currently, only 11 countries have been designated by the IOC. Korea is the only country in Northeast Asia.

The ceremony was attended by Park Sang-il, dean of SMART Sports Department, Jeong Ji-kyu, director of Smart Wellness Lab, Lee Se-yong, director of the IOC Research Center, and executives and employees of the three organizations. ��� Mutual cooperation to apply sports science research results to the field ��� Matters concerning the development of domestic and foreign sports industries were signed.

SMART Sports Department is the largest sports college in North Gyeongsang Province, consisting of six departments, including sports rehabilitation medicine, sports welfare for the elderly, soccer, taekwondo, sports guidance, and sports convergence.

In addition, Kyungil University's Smart Wellness Lab Research Institute is leading the convergence research in the field of wellness and sports healthcare to promote community and public health, prevent disease, and delay aging in the era of the 4th industrial revolution.
